ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CHAMBERS,
Hong Kong,
31st January, 1936.

1. I have examined the accompanying Ordinance intituled an Ordinance to amend the Coinage Offences Ordinance,
1865.
2.

A print of the Objects and Reasons is attached.
Legislation is being drafted on the lines of
the Counterfeit Currency (Convention) Act, 1935,
(25 & 26 Geo.5. c.25) which when enacted will necess-
arily amend this new Ordinance as well as the prin-
cipal Ordinance of 1865; but for the reason given in
paragraph 6 of the printed Objects and Reasons it was
considered undesirable to delay, even for a few weeks,
dealing with a novel form of counterfeiting.
4. I am of opinion that the Ordinance is not contrary
to the Governor's instructions and that it is one to
which His Excellency may properly assent in the name of
His Majesty and on His behalf.
ae
Attorney General.
